Santa Cruz County Sanitation District Construction Projects

The Santa Cruz County Sanitation District is continuously working to improve sewer systems in Santa Cruz County. Here’s a list of our current construction projects:

Santa Cruz County Sanitation District (SCCSD) Facilities Plan

In 2022, the Santa Cruz County Sanitation District will embark on a Master Plan to direct future improvements to the D.A. Porath (Lode Street) Sanitation Facility. The County is planning an extended community engagement effort in order to create a solution that respects the neighborhood and natural environment while continuing to provide quality service. Community members are encouraged to join meetings, workshops and other opportunities to share feedback during the master planning process.
Status: Project awarded.

Flush Truck Fill Station Project

Project Information Sheet
Scope: Work includes installation of a wharf hydrant fill station and appurtenances, and a roadside pullout.
Status: Currently in process.

2022 Sewer Pipe Repair Project

Neighborhood Notice
Scope: Work includes replacing sewer lines, lining existing manholes, replacing a manhole, and associated paving and striping in the vicinity of 43rd Avenue, 17th Avenue and Mattison Lane.
Status: Project awarded.

Job Order Contracting (JOC)

Neighborhood Notice (North Avenue Pipe Rehabilitation)
Scope: Job Order Contracting (JOC) is an on-call construction services contract where construction work and performance is determined by issuing Job Orders with the contractor during a fixed period of time (one year). The individual projects defined by each Job Order will be at different locations and facilities under the jurisdiction of the District. JOC is typically used for small to medium sized repair and rehabilitation work, replacement in kind projects, and minor new construction. The project location is in the County of Santa Cruz at all locations under the jurisdiction of the Santa Cruz County Sanitation District. Work includes various sanitation related work as determined by each Job Order. The District will award up to three contracts to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder(s). There is a mandatory pre-bid conference.

Lower Rodeo Gulch Trunkline Replacement Project

Scope: Work includes replacement of sewer lines, line existing manholes, replacement of manhole frame and lids. Status: Project awarded.

Arana Trunkline Sewer Replacement Project

Project Information Sheet
Scope: Work includes replacement of approximately 1,688 linear feet of aging and deteriorated existing sewer trunk line and replacement and rehabilitation of associated manholes.
Status: Project approved.

RFP for Supervisory Control and Data Aquisition (SCADA) Services

Notice of Intent to Award
Scope: The Santa Cruz County Sanitation District (District) invites sealed proposals for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Services from fully licensed, insured, bonded, certified CONTRACTORS to furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals required to provide services for the Santa Cruz County Sanitation District. This is a two-year contract, with the possibility of 2 (two) one-year additional renewals.

RFP for Electrical Services

Scope: The Santa Cruz County Sanitation District (District) invites sealed proposals for Electrical Services from fully licensed, insured, bonded, certified contractors to furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals required to provide services for the Santa Cruz County Sanitation District. This is a two-year contract, with the possibility of 2 (two) one-year additional renewals.

Upper Rodeo Gulch Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Neighborhood Notice
Scope: Work includes cured-in-place pipe lining, replacement of sewer lines, lining of existing manholes, replacing frame and lids, and repairing the steel trestle bridge supporting a sewer pipe. Status: Project approved.

D.A. Porath Sanitation Access Hatch Project

Notice of Intent to Award
Scope: The project involves providing access upgrades to the D.A. Porath Pump Station wet well by installing two new access hatches, one as an expansion of the existing opening, and the other in a second location. This project is being proposed to improve safety and access to the existing wet well located underneath the pump building’s concrete floor.

Scope: Work includes rehabilitating existing sanitary sewer manholes.

Rodeo Pump Station Capacity Upgrade

Scope: Work includes installing overflow sanitary sewer wet well and pumps at the Rodeo Pump Station.
