Matt Machado
Director
Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at California State University Fresno and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration at California State University Stanislaus.
Matt began his career as a Civil Engineer in 1994 in the City of Ripon. He spent 13 years there building and developing water systems, wastewater systems and roadway projects. The last seven years as the City Engineer.
In 2007 Matt Joined the Stanislaus County Public Works team as the Director. As a licensed Land Surveyor Matt was also the County Surveyor. His focus was on fiscal responsibility, good communication and project delivery. Additionally, Matt was the Authority Manager for the North County Corridor JPA (Joint Powers Authority) project.
In addition to his efforts in Stanislaus County, he was the 2016 County Engineers Association of California's President.
Matt joined Santa Cruz County in June 2018. Currently, he serves as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Community Development & Infrastructure.
