For properties in the unincorporated area, the Santa Cruz County Planning Division maintains the following information:
- Whether a property is in or out of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) as shown on the current (or previously effective) Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM). Please specify if a determination is needed that is based upon a previously effective map.
- Additional flood insurance data for a site, such as the FIRM zone and the base flood elevation or depth, if shown on the FIRM.
- Information about the flood insurance purchase requirement, which can help people who need a mortgage or loan for a property in the SFHA.
- If filed with the County, a copy of an existing elevation certificate for the subject property. The County of Santa Cruz maintains elevation certificates for new and substantially improved structures in the SFHA since January 1, 1987.
- Whether a property is located within a mapped floodway.
- Whether a property is within a repetitive loss area.
- Whether a property is subject to dam inundation.
- Whether a property is subject to coastal erosion or tsunami hazards.
